Chapter 07 · QC & safety

Read your QC photos like a pro

QC photos are your one chance to catch problems while the item is still in China. Here’s what they show — and what they can’t.

Fansbuy QC and storage step
QC & storage in the Fansbuy flow — 3–5 free photos per item.

What QC photos show

  • Overall item, colour and obvious defects.
  • Logos, prints and stitching close-ups.
  • Size labels and, on request, tape-measured dimensions.
  • Accessories, box and completeness.

What they cannot guarantee

  • Long-term durability or authenticity claims.
  • Exact fit on your body — use measurements.
  • Function of complex electronics beyond a basic check.
Decide with confidence

Before you approve shipping

Request extra QC

If a photo is unclear, ask for more angles or a measurement before the parcel is sealed.

Weigh the trade-offs

Consider value-added services — reinforcement, vacuum packing — for fragile or bulky items.

Know restricted goods

Batteries, liquids, powders and brand-sensitive items ship on some lines but not others.

Expect customs variance

Duties, taxes and delivery times differ by country and can change — treat estimates as estimates.

Mind weight & volume

Bulky-but-light items are charged by volumetric weight; consolidate to reduce it.

Don’t rush the call

You can hold an item in storage while you decide — approve shipping only when QC looks right.

The safety mindset

QC lowers risk; it doesn’t remove it. Check size charts, read seller history where you can, and keep your order records. Spreadsheet discovery never guarantees seller stock or final agent acceptance.
